Penny Stanton

Penny Stanton is an acrylic and mixed media artist based in the Hunter, at Catherine Hill Bay, NSW.  

Penny’s work reflects her love of colour and light, across a range of subject matters.

What began as a therapeutic escape from the day-to-day of corporate work, motherhood and urban life became an everyday life.  Living the creative dream – painting and creating whilst rearing and caring for family and friends.    

Personal experience has drawn her to the therapeutic and mindfulness value of the art and painting experience, which she now fosters with her students.  Sharing her 20+ years knowledge and experience by teaching and inspiring other’s journey into art creation and painting keeps her grounded as well as inspired.  

Penny likes to challenge herself and paint in a modern and eclectic style ranging from realism to impressionism, to the abstract essence of the subject. Light and shadow, finding the colour and wonder in her surroundings and people.

Penny is constantly stretching and growing her skill with evolving techniques, styles and subject matter.   

She finds that the joy of painting is in the journey.
